Matopo Ingwe Lodge is ideally situated within Matopo Hills, well known for its balancing rocks that are fondly named the Mother and Child balancing rocks, an iconic symbol of our Country. The hills and lush wooded valleys make for spectacular sunrises and sunsets which guests at our lodge can view during their stay from the lookout terrace.
Our lodge is located beside Matobo National Park, an excellent location for game viewing. Guests are welcome to explore the Park for a fee with family and friends or arrange game drives. Guests can also visit close attractions such as Nswatugi Caves to view rock paintings, Maleme Dam for a relaxing scenic walk, and the grave of Cecil John Rhodes at the summit of Malindidzimu (also known as the "Hill of the Ancestral Spirits")

Pool
You and your family can relax in the tranquillity of one of two inground pools, a kid's pool and the main pool nestled beside the granite hill. Change rooms, showers and washrooms are located within walking distance of the pool area. The area is also beside a barbequing area and dining area.
Overnight guests have unlimited access to the pool. Day guests may inquire at reception for pricing.
Walks & Bird Watching
Enjoy picturesque walks through the diverse landscape of distinctive granite landforms (kopjes) and wooded valleys in an idyllic climate. The unique balancing rock features with the popular “mother and child” balancing rocks are distinctive to the area and have been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Landscape.
The area boasts a wide variety of small animals and birds in the surrounding area such as rock rabbits, vervet monkeys, guinea fowl, augur buzzard, Eurasian Hoopoe, Southern Ground-Hornbill and more.

BBQs & Firepit
BBQ areas are available upon request in the downstairs area. Talk to reception about its use.

Picnics
Treat yourself to a relaxing afternoon indulgence under the golden African sun. Surrounded by nature in a delightful setup indulge your senses.

Game Drives*coming soon
Half-day and full-day game drives are available into the Matobo National Park, an Intensive Protection Zone for the endangered black and white rhinoceros. The park offers a variety of wildlife such as the elusive and shy leopard, zebras, kudos, giraffes, impalas and warthogs. It also has significant populations of birds of prey which include eagles, falcons and hawks.
Stops can be arranged to see some highlights like Nswatugi Caves to view cave paintings and more.

CAMPING
We offer a secluded campsite situated in the beautiful and entrancing natural settings of the Matopo Hills. Our sites have facilities for washing and toilets for campers.
